The cost of plaster coving and cornice will depend on the size of the projection onto the ceiling and the drop down the wall, the size and shape of the individual members and ornamental detail. The coving or cornice can be run in-situ or made on a bench as fibrous plaster work and then taken to site and fitted.

As an example a plain, traditional Victorian Cornice (eg: Whitechapel Macclesfield) with a ceiling projection of 190mm and a drop down the wall of 120mm would be between £25 and £30 per linear metre supplied and fitted.
The cornice can be supply only at between £40 – £50 per 3 metre length and fibrous fixers are available at a cost of £25 per hour to install and fix the cornice.
We would always recommend that plaster coving or cornice is supplied and fixed as it is essential that the cornice is fitted to a very high standard.
When matching an existing cornice the cost will be approximately £300 to make a reverse mould, £50 – £60 per cast and then £25 per hour for fibrous fixing. For example, a cornice with a similar projection to the Whitechapel Macclesfield profile mentioned earlier requiring 3 x 3 metre casts would cost around £650 supplied and fitted.
For large decorative ornamental work these costs can vary significantly.
